Welcome to J&R Toy Store, your friendly neighborhood toy store in Amarillo, Texas, USA! Our journey began with a simple, heartfelt idea: to create a haven for families and children in our community, just like we did in our very own Preston Hollow neighborhood.

Back in 2007, when our own children were young, we recognized the need for a local toy store that offered quality toys and cherished memories. The opportunity finally arrived when the space next to our existing business, Kids Cooking Company, became available. Without hesitation, we seized the chance, and the first seeds of J&R Toy Store were sown.

Over the years, we nurtured our vision, expanding our toy wonderland to over 6200 square feet, housing some of the best toys you can find. In 2013, our dream of bringing joy to another community came to fruition when we opened The Toy Maven – Southlake.

But life has its twists and turns. In 2019, an unexpected tornado struck our Preston Hollow location, leaving us with a temporary relocation. With unwavering support from our cherished vendors and loyal customers, we rallied, and in just 17 days, we were back in action, just in time for the holiday season. Almost exactly a year later, we returned to our original location in October 2020, stronger and more resilient than ever.

In 2021, an opportunity knocked once again as another local toy store closed its doors, and The Toy Maven was more than ready to step in. The fall of 2021 saw the birth of The Toy Maven – Park Cities, our newest addition to the family.

As a family-owned business, we take immense pride in serving the DFW community and now extending our warm embrace to Seymour, Tennessee.
